The Procedure
An eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) is a surgical procedure that treats droopy or heavy upper eyelids, puffiness caused by fat herniation, excess skin, and under-eye bags. In some cases, it can also improve obstructed vision caused by sagging upper lids.
The procedure is designed to restore a more rested and open eye appearance while maintaining natural eyelid function and facial balance.
How It Works
Blepharoplasty surgery can be performed under local or general anesthesia.
It often involves:
- Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin and sometimes small fat deposits
- Incision is placed within the natural eyelid crease for hidden scarring
- Lower blepharoplasty addresses under-eye bags and skin laxity
- Transconjunctival approach is used for fat removal without external scar, with a subciliary incision added when skin tightening is required
The technique is adapted to each patient’s anatomy to ensure balanced correction of both upper and lower eyelids while preserving natural eye expression and avoiding an over-tightened look.
Refined eyelids, natural expression.
